Charging While Running

I am looking to charge during event to get all stats without dying. Would this work with the 935?

  • never mind I found a data field to use for battery. Thanks
  • I use the 'single field' run screen from the IQ store and that has battery indication and percentage showing
  • I got a battery low notification on my watch during an activity when my foot pod battery was low. I assume you would also get one if the watch battery was low. Is that correct?
  • Lucky1976 : what type of activity are you planning to do where 20 hours battery life is not enough? (you wont get 24 hours, I think 20 is a more realistic number). Assuming you're doing some kind of ultra-ultra, I presume there will be stops en route. If you pause your activity, select "resume later" and charge your watch from a USB power bank while you're at a stop you can get an extra hour of use for every 5 minutes of charging time. If you average 5 minutes charging time per hour of activity time you can keep your watch going indefinitely (presumably until you run out of memory). Granted you won't get your heart rate while you're at a stop, but it will capture all the action of your activity.
  • Does anybody know of an angled charger cable? for ultras 19-20 hrs are not enough and charging with the original cable is very inconvenient. Unfortunately the ultra mode is almost useless for pace and gps tracking.
  • Wear a HR strap and then you can charge the 935 as you run with it attached to your pack so you still get GPS

Is this not a complicated solution? Is it not possible to make a new switch with a feature that the heart rate sensor always stays on?

  • For the current generation of watches with the exception of the 645/645m, the power connector is on the back, so you have to take off the watch to "charge on the go", so having OHRM on at that time doesn't really make sense.

    I know.

I made some posts about this subjects, some time ago. Unfortunately, I can t find them anymore. Where they lost during the migration to the new forum?

The charging plug is at the back of the watch. Is it possible that GARMIN developes L-shaped cables, as some users did here in the forum to solve the problem?

Can the charging plug not put at the side of the watch so that it can be used during charging?

And again, can the switch of the OHRM not be modified, so that there is a switch position “OHRM

    always on?

By doing this, all options for “charging during use” would be there for all kind of users.
