935 and Polar h7/h10 pairing and connecting

I've got both - H7 and H10 HRM from Polar and 935 won't connect or even pair sometimes...

I've found the issue in my case - it will not pair and connect if my phone's BT transmission is ON, if i turn it OFF - them pair/connect/transmit HR data wonderful!

So, what it is - either they paired with the phone (Android Sony Xperia Z2) or 935 connected strongly and one-to-one to the Sony - don't know! But Now if I want to start connection - I turn off Sony's BT for a while and after connection - turn it on back...
  • So here's the thing, if you paired the Strap (either one) to your phone, either internally via bluetooth OR via Polar Beat (if you have it connected to that for firmware updates), the signal can only go one way. The strap is connected to the phone so it cannot then be connected to your watch. You either need to:

a)Remember to disconnect the strap from the phone each time you want to pair it with the watch
b)Completely disconnect it from your phone/polar beat and not ever pair it to your phone.

The only way the strap could have been connected to the phone as far as I know is because you manually connected it in the first place. The reason the watch pairs sometimes over the phone is perhaps you were too far from the phone so it couldn't pair there first and latched onto the thing it could (your watch). BTS can only pair to one thing at a time and only one BTS can be used at one time. It stinks and frankly is going backwards vs. ANT+ (which multiple sensors can be paired to one device at the same time).

Just don't pair the strap to your phone and you'll be fine.
  • Here is what I (almost accidentaly) did to make it record on both Polar Beat and the 935. Start the exercise before on Polar Beat and select "Save HR with Sensor", and leave (don't close) the app on the phone. Then start the exercise on Garmin as usual, finish your workout and, after you are done with Garmin, go back to the phone and finish the exercise on the app.

It won't be an 100% match and I don't know if GPS will work (I left the phone at home), but at least you will have the Polar HR numbers on both the Polar Beat and 935

    This makes zero sense.

    a) I have no idea if the person that I commented on was even using Polar Beat in the first place, and even then why are you (poster as well) logging data in two different ecosystems in the first place? Just pair it every so often to see if the h7/h10 has a firmware update, download it and then unpair it from the watch.
    b) this doesn't fix/explain a single thing. 1st off you're logging data to polar h7/10 memory and running information from that to beat (but not actually connected to polar beat since you'll have the h7/10 connected to the 935, you can't split a BT signal like this). 2nd any TE (the smart coaching equivalent for Polar) will have to look wonky suspect to start, and most likely be incorrect. The HR in Real Time will be fed to the 935 while the watch factors in all the first beat info.

Just don't have the strap paired to your watch at all when trying to pair it to your 935. There are no hoops to jump through here, you don't have to re-invent the wheel.
  • Thanks, Guys,

it's exact thing I want to share. I have Polar Beat installed and H10 paired with the phone - but when I wake up and all my apps closed the phone monopolizes H10 even with closed Polar beat and no other processes uses H10. BTW - Garmin Connect by ocasion gives push notification "Problem with BT connection" where listed some steps to recover connection - like disable BT, enable BT etc.

Your wrong. I pair my HRM with my phone and it connects to a treadmill or tower. It just sends info it doesn't receive so doesn't care how many receivers are listening.
