Running with 2 Garmin...

Hello, I would like to ask anyone if I ran with 2 Garmin watches what will show up in my activities when I'm done. Both devices are registered to Garmin Connect F935 and F5s sapphire) and my plan is to rotate between the 2, F935 for running/strength training and such and use the F5s when I'm not doing any training. So far I've made 1 run with the F5s and on that run it worked good with all my peripherals, i.e. Wahoo TICKR hrm, Stryd footpod and Garmin Running Dynamics pod. I'm running a 10k race Sunday May 28, tomorrow. Unfortunately I'm nursing a sore knee (I have arthritis throughout my body) and will run the race anyway but I don't expect to PR. Anyway I would like to run with both of my watches and give my Apple watch 2 a break (I'm a gear junky :D). It will be a good opportunity for me to compare both watches for my reference, guess I could've just tried it before the race but I just got the F5s this week and never gave running with the 935 and F5s a thought until today. Thanks in advance!
  • Both of them will appear in GC. If you use GC as your definitive record you will need to delete one or the other.

If you use Strava and you start the two at more or less the same time then the first one to get there will "win".

The "problem" with rotating your watches is that training load won't work properly as the watch needs to see all the stuff you do. So, if that matters to you, wear at least one of them all the time.

Hi Tim and thanks for the insight. I've already experienced the lack of "training load"," VO2 max" syncing, if you will. I will be using GC but do use Strava as well as Training Peaks. I do like to keep track of those things and if the F5s continue to meet my requirements then I will probably sell the 935 and if the F5s doesn't then I'll rotate them as planned and deal with the short comings of that configuration (using 2 watches). While I like to keep track of my training load and such I do get some gratification in seeing what appears to be me making strides staying fit, I also use HRV measurements on a daily basis to use with in hopes of staying in my "fitness lane". I'll probably just run with the F5s tomorrow and see what happens in the days/weeks after.
