Screen flickering?

i noticed that my FR935 screen is flickering. it's best noticeable when the background is set to white and the background light is off and the screen is viewed with a bit of an angle. my screen caught my eye while driving and my wrist was angled.

i found a thread in Fenix 5X with people reporting the same issue.

anyone else having the same issue? it has been suggested in Fenix 5X thread that this would be a battery saving feature, but then others say that their screens are perfectly fine.

    Hm, I have a Forerunner 935, had flickering, have installed the beta, don't see flickering anymore. So that's why I wrote the posting above - not sure about the reasons for the other messages :rolleyes:


    Not that the issue really bothered me it's still good to know my watch isn't faulty. Pleased to hear the latest beta fixes it.

    Same here, very rarely noticed it. In my previous message I was simply pointing out that Garmin specifically mentioned it had been fixed in "Low Power" mode when it was in fact present at all times. It now appears they could have dispensed with that comment.

    I am still noticing the screen flickering on the 4.02 beta. It doesn't seem to be quite as noticeable, but I definitely still notice it in bright light. It almost looks as though the frequency of flickering is faster. My eyes may be deceiving me though.

    I also had a screen glitch a moment ago where a horizontal line appeared near dead center on the screen. It corrected only after I switched to another screen.

    Oddly enough, after the screen glitch I mentioned in my previous post, the flickering stopped. I had my wife confirm it as well. So out of confusion, I powered off my watch and powered it back on and the flickering has returned. I double-checked with my wife and she notices it again too.

    I'm new to this forum and probably should have been making these posts in the 4.02 beta thread. My apologies.

    Why can't I flag the last 2 posts as spam? When I try I get a dialog box saying "You're not authorized to make this post/"

    Probably because Garmin haven't bothered setting up the new version of the forum properly...like many other features like the time-out on being logged in.

    It also shows that the ridiculously annoying permanent captcha for regular posters is easily circumvented.
