New 935 owner here, been using a 910 xt since release, and used virtual partner regularly on that device as well as virtual racer, but I can't get virtual partner to work, i'm never ahead or behind, numbers just stay at 0 even if i stand still called Garmin, they were about as much use as an ash tray on a motorbike, any ideas, done a soft re-set not changed timer will not work, must be doing something wrong.
How are you setting up the Virtual Partner? Are you Racing an Activity, Setting a Target or Following a Training Plan Activity? I tried all 3 (or is their another option?) and all 3 worked for me, when I started the activity with any of the 3 options and did not move, I immediately was starting to be Behind the Virtual Partner.
I have added virtual partner to Running, Cycling, Mtbking, set at certain speeds, 25kph, 17kph, and 5.30 per km in the run, I start the activity, top of the watch has time in front, mid has a pic of the figures, bottom one has average speed or pace, now when I start I am neither in front or behind just stays on zero. Can I change these 3 data screens inside virtual partner ?, if so I may have solved the problem.
No the Virtual Partner screen you can add to an activity only has the Pace / Speed as an option, the fields are fixed.
When I add this the same way you say you did, to a Running Activity and start the Activity I immediately start falling behind. May be try resetting the watch.
Thank you everybody, yes i changed software versions and now it works, how on earth they could sell the units with software on that does not work is beyond me, not a great start with the new 935.
I am having the exact same issue as the OP. Tried a hard reset which did not help. I’m running software version 8.0.
any advice would be very much appreciated.
I had the same problem. Fixed it by removing the virtual partner screen from the activity, reboot the watch and then re-add the virtual partner to the activity. This worked for me in the run activity.
