i hope i'm not breaking any etiquette by forking a prior thread discussing alarm issues that were originally hypothesized to be related to "Do not disturb."
here's the issue: if i set an alarm on my watch (a "one and done" (not repeating) alarm), this alarm often gets deleted from my watch if it syncs itself with Garmin Connect. as you might imagine this is problematic as i didn't get woken when i should have the first morning after using the watch.
i have been going back and forth with Garmin support using email this past week. (very slow, and they are closed today for the Easter weekend, else i was going to try phone support) i have tried all their suggestions including erasing some settings files from the watch, but the problem still exists.
it seems this is really an engineering issue, but i am hoping:
1. a few of you are willing to confirm that this is a universal problem: set an alarm on your watch to occur in the next 24 hours, and then go to Garmin Connect and manually sync with your watch (this accelerates the test and also insures that a full sync is done). does that alarm disappear when you go back to look at the alarms set on your watch?
2. Someone on the Garmin support team like Joseph sees this and can pass it on to the relevant parties. to me, this is glaring bug/engineering oversight. Alarm setting should not depend on whatever is set in Garmin Connect, nor should GC be allowed to overwrite/delete alarm settings recently set on the watch.
finally: a related and annoying bug -- if i do the sync process discussed above, it will sometimes duplicate my repeated alarms set in GC. right now i have 3 occurrences of the same alarm times/days on my watch although there is only one occurrence in GC.
clearly there are some issues with how GC and the watch are interacting with respect to how alarms work...
thanks everyone!
