Watch straps

So the 935 is compatible with the new range of Quickfit bands, but I assume I need a small screwdriver to remove the band it ships with, then replace that bar to "snap" on the quickfit bands?

Is it compatible with the 22mm wide Fenix 5 bands or the 20mm from the Fenix 5s?

I'm hoping some 3rd parties will release some cheaper bands, I like the look of the Slate Gray Stainless Steel but not at £130!!

Has anyone tried using the quickfit bands and are they simple to swop over?

regards,

Greg
  • Got my Quick Connect 22 bands today and like them a lot. They are less "stetchy" than the band that comes with the 935, but for me they seem to fit just a little better due to thicker lug pieces. While changing the bands with the screws is not a big deal the quick connect is nice to have and no fussing with tiny screws.

Are they worth the money --> probably not.

thanks for feedback. did you already have a pair of T5 drivers to do this? i guess i could just go to Home Depot/hardware store to buy a pair... (i am assuming that unlike the standard replacement band, the quick connect ones don't come with the T5s)
  • Each one comes with a set of screw drivers for some reason in the box. I did have a few sets already from the f3 days as well.

oh, nice! i was assuming that they neglected them since they are quick fit bands that wouldn't need them if you are a Fenix 5 owner.

that's good (esp considering what they charge for them!)

any chance of some pics of the various straps/colours??
  • Here's some pics:

    Black

    Amp Yellow

    Flame Red
  • How are you finding the F5 straps vs the standard 935 one? When I first tried the 935 strap it felt too flexible and "cheap feeling" but I've found that it's grown on me. The combination of the flexible strap and the smaller lugs (compared to the F5) make it seem like I'm getting a better fit with the 935 while running.
  • First world problems - when is it a yellow or orange (sorry flame red) day? :)

LOL, yeah guess I got too excited when they had all 3 in stock. Like them all to be honest though.

These bands are definitely not as "elastic" as the band that comes with the 935 and I did like that, but these seem to provide a better fit on my wrist and stay put when worn looser so don't need to tighten them down as much for running as I did with the original band, but I could see someone not liking how they feel as they can push against the wrist bone a bit, which I noticed during the first hour of wear, but now I don't notice that at all and they are comfortable.
