firstbeat algorithms

The firstbeat algorithms depend on learning all your activities to copile your personal background information to work well, right?
Calories Burned
Recovery Time Advisor
Training Load

So will garmin add a way to transfer that background info between device? If I want to use an Edge unit on the bike and a 935 for everything else it would be nice if the firstbeat based algorithms would still produce useful data. (I'm assuming they want me to use a Edge if I already bought a 935)
  • Clearly if you press Start and discard after a few seconds, no such analysis is possible.

So TIMGROSE do you think this behaviour was a bug of 735 or just a limitation of not being able to accumulate rest time?
  • Not sure what is going on for you there. I have 5 hours recovery time on my 935 and 0 (zero) on 735.
On both just did an at desk "run" for a minute with obviously resting HR levels from OHR and discarded both.

    Both recovery times unchanged.

Ha! Starting from recovery time 0h, I just repeated the test both as you described (1min, RHR from WHR) and also instantaneously (1s, RHR from WHR) and discarded both "runs". The recovery remained at 0h. Have I been dreaming or has this been fixed?

At any rate you are right, I am not observing the problem I described above, my apologies for misinformation.
