735 xt stopped recording distance

Hi I have a forerunner 735xt. Yesterday, I went swimming in the sea. Half way through, the distance stopped being recorded. I tried a pool swim and a run but no distance recorded. I tried turning off and on to no avail. Anyone any ideas? Thanks Simon

Try a hard reset (restore to default). But backup data first as it will erase, along with your settings. Otherwise contact Garmin support.

Thanks Andy, I tried that. Then things went from bad to worse as when reset the battery kept draining. It would be dead overnight with no activity. To be far Garmin first class response. Spoke to a human being without waiting being told my call is very important. They emailed some suggestions they didn't work and have offered to replace my watch. I couldn't find my receipt but as bought less than two years ago under warranty.
