Forerunner 920xt doesn't start up, stuck on Garmin logo

Hi

My Garmin forerunner 920xt suddently shut down just showing the Garmin logo (shifting to a sek. of black screen every 8 sek.)

I have tried several recet options incl

A. Holding power bottom til it turns completely off.

B. Holding arrow up and down while pressing Power, waiting for several minutes for the beeps, but they never came.

C. Holding Back and Enter while pressing power and waaaaaiting

D. Holding Mode/menu and Back and waiting.

E. Connecting to the pc, to update via WebUpdater, but the pc can't see/find my device!

HELP please - any other options?

  • Just to make sure. Here's 920XT master reset. It's a little tricky and requires some dexterity. I've done it several times.

This will erase all user data.

    • Power off device. If unit is frozen power off by holding the power button for 30 seconds until the screen goes black.
    • After device is fully powered off, hold 2 right buttons simultaneously
    • Press and release power for 1 second
    • Wait for 1st beep, then release top button
    • Wait for 2nd beep, then release bottom button
    • If successful, you will be prompted for language
    • Follow the remaining on-screen prompts for initial setup
    • Place watch outside with unobstructed view of the sky for 30 minutes

Also, I've moved this thread to the Forerunner 735XT forum. More likely to have visibility for those that have had the 920XT.

  • The watch reset to language but the keys wont respond to follow the on-screen prompts

  • The same problem for me. Master reset doesn't work on my 920 XT.

  • I have a 920XT and follow this exact process. But if buttons are physically broken, then it won't work.
