Anybody know what happens when this occurs?

Looks like the watch booted into test mode.

Your watch normally goes into to test mode when holding down the up and down button (2 lower buttons on the left) when turning on the watch.

I think some of the buttons might not be moving smoothly and stay pressed when booting up the watch.
