Main Menu in FR 735XT

Hi everybody

My brother just got a brand new FR735XT and we re having some issues in understanding how it works.

One question we have is the following: if we click the up-right button we see "Run" and just below it "Activity/Menu". If we click down-left button we get to a menu (Activity Settings, Training, History, MyStats, Navigation, Settings). Is this menu a general one or inherent to the Run activity. To us, some items look specific to "Run" but others general.

It looks odd that, for example, that GPS gets activated immediately as soon as we push up-right button. If, say, one wants to change the language, why should the watch activate the GPS?

This is a general menu, but the first item ("Activity Settings") is specific to currently selected activity.

Because the watch doesn't know if you pressed the "Start/Stop" button to change some settings or you're just preparing to start a run. This is one of the peculiarities of the 735XT that to access the main menu you actually have to enter activity mode. So, yeah, it's odd, but that's how it works.

Very odd... Do you think they ll release better software for 735xt one day?

No. Any updates for the FR735XT are very unlikely.
