My Forerunner 735XT stopped showing GPS signal and doesn't record a track and doesn't show a map. I checked, GPS is on, but still the distance is not recorded. Please help! Marina 0412 308 310

Try rebooting the watch.

what precisely does it mean? to press both light and start buttons for 15 sec together?

I tried soft and hard rebooting, still GPS doesn't work and doesn't record the distance

By rebooting I meant powering off (by holding the light button and selecting "Power off") and then powering back on.

After a hard reset the watch might need several minutes to get a GPS fix, so go outside, where you have unobstructed view of the sky, select a GPS-enabled activity, like for example outdoor run (but do not start it yet), and have some patience. If after several minutes you still don't get a GPS fix, then clearly there is something wrong with your watch, and you need to contact garmin support.
