hi,

my 735XT doesn't record HR anymore and green lights on the back of the watch are turned off.

In addition when I press the arrow down to activate the HR monitor it takes time to show the screen while the beep is immediately heard.

Any suggestion?

thank you

  • First, try rebooting. If this does not help, do a factory reset.

    thank you!

already did both. Unfortunately is out of warranty but I strongly believe that is something related to version 9.70 because this behavior started suddenly. It is possible to do a rollback on a previous version?

  • I've been on firmware 9.70 since the end of May. My 735XT HR stopped working within the past week as well; also with the problem of being very slow to navigate menus (to the point of locking up). In addition, I noticed the battery was draining fully in about 10 hours, with no activity use. The clock was losing time too.

I did a soft reboot; no help. I fought with it for some time to do a hard reset and cleared all my data. The HR still doesn't work, watch was still slow, battery still draining. I switched off HR in the menu and now the battery is doing a little better, but still draining faster than normal. The watch also is keeping time again.

As you mention; wish we could try a previous version.

  • I just followed the steps to revert back to public release 9.30 on this page: https://www8.garmin.com/support/download_details.jsp?id=10408

It installed successfully (I confirmed the version on the watch), but still no optical HR. I guess the last option is to try to talk with Support, even though the warranty is gone. That is at least a thread of hope for an answer.
