Lap distance in open water mode is not working

Lap distance in open water mode is not working ( GPS is Ready and works for run mode) , tried to update satellite but the distance stays on 0 ( it does measure number of strokes in the activity though Distance is 0)

What is your swimming style? Open water distance won't work for breaststroke.

I'm having the same problem - it used to work fine, but now, although GPS is ready, it's not recording my distance on open water swims. I've just tried resetting it tonight, so let's see if that helps....

Resetting it fixed it for me (Press down top left button for 15 secs, select switch off, then switch on again). Hurrah
