Why can't I sync with Precor Spinning computers? Why do I need to start an acticrit to maintain an HR connection?

I'm getting tired of the inability to seamlessly sync, pull data  and what not from various computers and equipment.

Brand new spinning bikes with great power meters and computers. And the only thing I can use my watch for is to transmit HR. Yet that HR won't even pass through to the Wahoo app which is the only way I can save that workout. Yet I lose HR data so I have to do an indoor spinning session on my watch and wahoo. Then I have to sync wahoo to strava which will then sync to Garmin connect and then manually input my HR data to the wahoo session from the Garmin session. My Garmin is doing HR anyway but has to have an activity going to keep the Bluetooth connection?

What a joke and royal pain in the butt. Why can't my watch connect to the Precor computer and pull the watts, rpms and such and incorporate it into the indoor spin activity?

This is 2019, and the level of interconnectivity to seamlessly integrate our info amongst device is just a joke. I can't even keep HR connected to the Precor computer without starting an activity on the watch. I wanted to ditch my chest strap, but I don't see why I have to start an activity in the watch purely to keep HR active.

I honestly don't get the limitations in this day and age. And I can't even sync wahoo to Connect because Garmin pulled it stating their stuff is proprietary.

Thanks for such a seamless experience Garmin. Making it real easy to look elsewhere for a one product experience to meld outdoor and indoor activities in one spot with minimal fuss. I don't always train outside, and I don't understand why I have to jump through so many hoops to record data for my indoor training.

  • And to add, if you're going to limit what services can sync data, then make your own platform more seamless to pull data from other sources. If you're supposed to be my sole source for training, at least make it painless to do so and not a chore. Especially when manual entry of data into an activity is about as painful as it comes due to the endless scrolling of numbers. Entering wattage on a single dial is just cumbersome when you're spinning and spining for 5 minutes to get into the hundreds. But that's part of my other complaint which habeen ignored by your customer service via email and this forum.
