Invalid FIT File

I have just completed the Aberfeldy 1/2 Ironman using the 735xt. Using the Triathlon activity type, it was recording all the data as I went along, but now as I try to upload the file it is showing, "invalid" in History and continues to error when I try and sync.

Any suggestion please, as I am gutted to lose all this data

ps, the map is on the watch showing my my swim, bike & run

    Same problem here

Hello I had the same problem 2 weeks ago, I finished a triathlon in Veracruz, México, the largest latinamerican thriatlon and the same, after pressing the last button to end the running, the watch freezes and rebooted. Then the fit file says invalid.

Can someone please help me fix it?
    Regards

    Carlos

    Perhaps the same problem?

I think I might also have this problem.... Have updated to 4.4 - but I am not understanding if this fixes the problem, or do I still need 4.32 beta? Sorry if this is a silly question.

I have attached my corrupted file - It would be great if it could be fixed.

    Hello TrineC,

Here ya go....fixed with the Fit File Repair Tool.
  • Unintended "lap" press in multisport activity

Hi, I'm aware there are multiple places here where people ask for help with FIT files. I hope this is the right one for my case. If not - please show me the way :)

Here is the activity in question.
I took part in a duathlon today - 5km run, 21km bike, 4km run. During the bike leg I unintentionally pressed the "lap" button. Then few times again to get back my biking screens. Could someone remove those extra "next leg" presses please? Both first and last running legs correspond to actual running, the transitions after/before them are fine. Everything else should have been bike without breaks.

It would be really great to get it fixed!

Thanks in advance and have a great day

    Hello Anton,
Here ya go. Manufactured a MultiSport with the Fit File Repair Tool.
  • Thanks a lot Don! Looks much better now :) A question though - is it possible to keep running metrics for the first and the last legs?

Also, is there any information on what's inside the FIT file or how to edit one? Is there any other way except Fit File Repair Tool, even if it's a manual one? I also took parts in few multisport events before I got a multisport-capable watch. Have them as separate activities. It would be nice to stick them together, but asking for that here seems a bit too much...

    Hello Anton,

Whenever you want an activity repaired with metrics you must attach the original FIT file from the device. A link to your Connect account only allows the export of TCX files (to outsiders) which do not have the metrics. I repaired your TCX file because that was all there was available to me. If you export the "original" from your account and then save it to a folder, you can then attach that original FIT file and anyone who fixes it will be including the metrics assuming the metrics did not get corrupted. Combining individual files into one MultiSport file is quite easy so you can include each group into separate messages if you want them combined.

I wasn't aware of that, thanks for explanation. Here is the fit file , if you would be so kind to fix it once more. (Both first and last running legs correspond to actual running, the transitions after/before them are fine. Everything else should have been bike without breaks.)

    Thanks and best regards,
