Disable treadmill calibration

Hey guys, looking for suggestions. I currently do either trail running or treadmill running and am getting tired of resetting my watch to get it relatively close to 2hat the treadmill says. Is there a setting so that my slow, technical trail runs won't interfere with my fast treadmill runs in regards to distance?
  • There is no such setting. You could try using a footpod for your treadmill runs.

Will this override what ever computation the watch is pulling from my trail runs?
  • If the footpod is set as pace source then yes, it will override any other source. For optimal results you should avoid using the same footpod on your trail runs (because the footpod self-calibrates on outdoor runs), but even if you fail to do that, you should see much better results than with the watch's built-in accelerometers alone.

I would recommend to disable auto calibration of the foot pod, and set a fixed calibration factor instead.
Note that some foot pods would require different calibration factors for different conditions/paces, but there are examples of foot pods that are impressively accurate across most scenarios once it has been calibrated properly. (i.e. Stryd)

EDIT: Just had a look in the 735XT manual, and it doesn't say anything about setting the FP calibration factor manually, so it might not have that option? I don't have the 735XT myself, so sorry if I mislead anyone.
  • I have the FR735XT and can confirm that there is an option to disable footpod autocalibration along with possibility to set a custom fixed calibration factor.
