Workouts get default name after completion

Hello,

Anyone else having to change the name of the activity after completing a workout?

I have workout in my calender called "10km heartrate zone 2". When I complete that workout my watch/connect gives it a default name instead of the name of the workout? To me, it's logical if my activity inherits the name of the workout I just completed and replaces the workout post. Instead I have to rename every activity, this ends up with me having two posts in the calendar with the same name. One workout and one activity (see picture).

I know this is not a big deal but it's simple and should work. It would be most logical if the activity got the same name as the workout and that the workout itself disappeared from the calendar.

  • Garmin Connect doesn't know that an activity has been executed as a workout, as this information isn't stored in the resulting fit file.

Ah, I see. It's a bit of a shame. It should be something they implement, otherwise you may think it's a bit of a half-finished feature.
  • Garmin does know when your activity was executed as a workout and the workout is stored inside the activity FIT file. Have you checked the Display Preferences option in GC under Settings|Activity Name > 'Workout name when available'?

I tried it and it worked like a charm! Many thanks!
  • Oh, somehow i missed that. Perhaps it's a relatively new feature. Anyway, sorry for the confusion.
