Today my watch received the 9.40 update via Garmin Express. Since then the BT connection is lost again and again. I restarted my phone (Samsung Galaxy A5 2017 with Android 8 and latest GCM), that helped for a few hours. After being out of range the connection is lost and doesn't come back when near the phone again. Switched off the watch an on again, nothing. I plugged the watch into my PC and looked with the file explorer, nothing strange. Did a sync with Garmin Express. After that the BT connection is back. I don't know how long. I think leaving the range and come back won't cause a reconnect. Before that update I didn't have any problems. Obviously things are getting worse when Garmin tells us that they have been improved. It's not my first watch that is messed up after an update. The GPS of my FR35 got worse with every update. And my FR235... Sometimes I thought that I'm dead because it couldn't find my HR.
Just tried to connect the watch with my Yoga 3 tablet, same thing: Pairing starts, after code entering the watch says "connecting" and after a timeout the process stops with no success and I am asked to retry pairing. :(
That's really annoying. The BT connection should be more stable after that update but the opposite happened. I'm glad that my watch works again but it's sad that all the workarounds don't work for you.
Today I managed to sync several times via BT again. This is the way: - delete the watch from the list of paring devices in the BT settings of the phone - delete the watch in the list of garmin devices in GCM app - pair the watch using GCM - Garmin devices - Add device. Do NOT use the BT settings of the phone to start pairing!!! . if the watch is not found, restart pairing and start the pairing on the watch too. - the watch and the phone should find each other now and GCM is asking fpr the pairing code - after the pairing has finished, syncing starts
This worked for me and after switching BT off and on again, the watch was found and synced as usual with GCM, so I hope that the problem is fixed now. Will see tomorrow after training. If you want to try if this procedure works for you: Good luck!
This have done yestarday also but it worked only temperatly. Today I don't get any sync again.
Hm. Too bad that my solution is not yours, too. Here everything is still working fine again. I'm wearing the watch whole day Long (wich I usually don't) and everytime I come to my desk or where ever my phone is laying around both connect immediately. Yesterday I transmitted the data of my swim training without Problems to GCM. Hope you get it solved soon.
Is it just me or does anybody else got a delay when you switch to the weatherwidget? Before 9.40 it opend instantly but now it says "waiting for wetherdata" a couple of seconds before it opens.
