9.3 issue with open water swim tracking?

Hi - since the update to 9.3 my swims have been tracking slower pace wise than usual...

I'm definitely not swimming slower than 1 month ago, however, all my average swim pace's are coming out about 10's per 100 slower than before. I've noticed on a few of the swims the GPS track at the start of the swim was further down the beach than when I actually hit start. To try and counter this I've made sure I was hitting start when my arm was out of the water and the watch had been given a few minutes to warm up get a good lock on satellites. Some other advice I have read suggested turning on GLONASS and changing the recording intervals from smart to every second however neither made any difference to my new, slower average swim pace!

Is anyone else experiencing similar?
  • I have only used it in open water once since the update, but it worked just fine. Important to only do crawl, and to keep hand above water if you stop to rest. Open water is hard to gauge pace though bc it is affected by tides (in sea), wind and chop. Otherwise try a reset?

I will add I'm a competitive 3x a week sea swimmer. The sudden drop in pace coincides with the update + I'm not doing anything differently to how I was before, same stroke, same stretch of water - just hoping someone else has noticed otherwise I'll as suggested I'll try a reset or warranty return
