Updating a CIQ Data Field Removes It From Activity Profile

Hi,

when I update my CIQ Data Fields they get removed from the Activity Profiles they were used in. They are usually replaced by the Timer field.

Is that a known bug happening to everyone or is it specific to my 735XT (in which case I would contemplate performing a complete factory reset and re-installation of everything which will take quite some time)?
  • If you update using Garmin Express, that shouldn't happen. If you update with a phone, it does an uninstall/reinstall, so settings for the DF are lost, etc. So if you want to preserve things, use Garmin Express.

    It's been this way for a very long time, and I know people have complained about it.
  • This used to happen with my 630 (roughly same generation of watches), so I’m not surprised. I doubt a factory reset would help, but like Jim said, you could try using Garmin Express (PC/Mac with USB cable) to update instead.

    It’s def a very annoying problem....

    Thank you Jim - I will try using Garmin Express.

    I did file a support ticket with Garmin but haven't heard back from them. I'll let you know how things are progressing.
