Forerunner 735XT - Treadmill

Hi Everyone!

I bought a Forerunner 735x less than a week ago. Love it so far.
Last evening, I tried the Indoor running activity and I am wondering about the accuracy.

I am running on a NordicTrack C990 with 5% incline.
After running 3.70km on the Treadmill, the watch indicated 5km.
I know running with incline add "some" resistance but I was quite suprise about the results.
I do not believe 3.70km @ 5% incline means 5km on flat.
Is there anything I can try to increase the accuracy?

(I have foot pod on the way, should receive them today or tomorrow, to run with Zwift, maybe it will be more accurate with that?)

Thank you,
Félix

Ahhh ok, Then I will have to wait for the summer, or at least, for the snow to melt ;)

    Thank you for the information!
  • Once you get your foot pod you can manually calibrate it to your treadmill without having do outdoor runs. But that calibration will only be for the pace you ran on that TM and won't necessarily translate to anything else.

It doesn't help me. When I run faster then 10 km/h 735 shows ~ 10km but the rea; distance is 12 km. When I run slower then it is more or less accurate.
  • I guess this is the best you can achieve indoors without a footpod.
  • My experience is that with either the watch alone or paired with a calibrated foot pod it will match the treadmill pretty closely +/-10 sec/mi at my normal easy pace but with a slower pace it will read even slower and faster paces it will read an even faster pace.

That's with a Garmin foot pod but plenty of people seem to find the Stryd better with and without calibration however I have no direct experience with it.
