Tempe sensor not connecting when running, but does connect with hikes on my 735XT

I'm experiencing strange behavior of my Tempe sensor on my 735XT.
When I start the running activity, the sensor can not be found, no matter how long I wait, no matter how close they are together.
On the Hike activity it does find the Tempe sensor after a few minutes.
Using the search for sensor en the settings menu also doesn't find my Tempe.

The problem seems to be with my 735XT as I also hae an Oregon600 that reads the Tempe's data instantly.

Any clues what to do with this?
  • Well, I don't have a tempe to try out, but since some types of sensors work only in particular activity profiles (for example a bike cadence sensor will not connect while running) I would not be surprised if the tempe worked in hiking mode only by purpose.
  • That's not it.
Because in the past it did connect by itself on the running activity. Sometimes quick, sometimes when I was running for an hour already. And when I first enter the hike activity until the Tempe sensor is connected and then switch to the running profile it stays connected and I get a nice temperature graphic in Garmin Connect in my run statistics.

My 735xt / tempe combination does exactly this, although I used cycling as the secondary activity but has the same effect as you in hike. I had given up but interested to maybe try again to get this fixed.
