Forerunner 735xt only 15 months old and yesterday it started displaying the time incorrectly. I changed this manually then powered it off at night. When I turned it on this morning it started freezing and powering off itself. The watch will now not even switch on. I restored the settings prior to it turning off completely. Ive tried the soft reset, tried the hold the power button etc but nothing is working. Tried to phone garmin. No support at the weekend No option to even book a 735xt for repair. This is now my third garmin watch which I've had trouble with and having spent ?350+ on this one, to only last 15 months is ridiculous. Any ideas on a fix or should I give up with garmin and swap to something more reliable
Have you tried the "3-finger master reset"? This clears all your user settings, and can usually be performed when nothing else on the watch is working. It does require that your watch can turn itself on a "little bit". (Try connecting the cable to a computer or USB charger if it won't)
1) While the watch is off, hold down Light, Start and Back at the same time. (Light button and the two buttons on the right). 2) The watch should power on. After the first beep, go of the Start button. 3) After the second beep, let go of the other two buttons.
This works on most current Garmin watches, including 230 and 935, and it should work on the 735 as well.
(Hope that's not what you meant by soft reset. I see a lot of different terminology for the different kinds of resets.)
Unfortunately yes, I've tried that too. Now when I plug it in it comes up with garmin symbol but then won't even turn itself on. Thanks for your suggestion though.
Dear @Lindz105 I've got almost same problem with my Garmin Forerunner 230, It was bought at may 2016 and 3 weeks ago it's just freezed. I tried to make a master reboot, to upgrade firmware but nothing works (computer doesn't see watch via USB cable). At the moment when I bought watch, I thought "Wow, that's what I was looking for". Now don't have any desire to buy Garmin =(
