Unable to Downgrade Firmware From 8.2 to 7.2

Hi,

due to a well documented bug 8.2 is unable to show the heart rate history in custom watch faces (https://forums.garmin.com/forum/developers/connect-iq/connect-iq-bug-reports/159239-).

I would like to downgrade to 7.2 and followed the instructions given e.g. on http://www8.garmin.com/support/download_details.jsp?id=10408. However, after placing the renamed GUPDATE.gcd file in the /Garmin/ folder and restarting the watch no downgrade is performed. In addition, when I reconnect the watch to Garmin Express on my Mac the update file has been deleted from the /Garmin/ folder.

Did anybody successfully downgrade from 8.2? Am I doing something wrong?

This was my experience also when attempting to step back to 7.2. Hope that a fix via Update 8..21 is soon

Damn... I don't have very high hopes for a quick fix - Garmin is notorious for not getting software and software development and the 735XT probably slipped a little on the priority list since the release of the the 935...

On a positive note: I am finally able to use the forum again, so they seem to have sorted the authorization bug.

"Downgrades" from a released version to another version are never "supported" and usually don't seem to work anyway.

Annoying for you sure but hopefully will be sorted soon.

The beta update sticky at the top of the forum fixes the HR problem.
