ANT+ and Woodway treadmill

So several questions. I bought a 735XT and I'm loving it. I do a few indoor runs on a Woodway at the local gym a few times a week along with a few outdoor runs. The first time I ran on the Woodway, I noticed my heart rate being sent to the Woodway from my watch! Wow... way cool! When I got home I researched ANT+, and noticed my stats on speed and distance were dead on... very cool.

Since this run, I had to reset my watch for a different reason, and have not been able to have the Woodway show my heart rate (and I think the communication the other way back is working either, although my stats from my run seem to be close, but not quite right). So my questions:

1) How can I verify that I am connected to the Woodway treadmill via ANT+ (is the only indication seeing HR display on the Woodway). Is there anything on the watch that would indicate ANT+ connected to the Woodway?
2) Will ANT+ work when I'm doing a custom interval workout in 'My Workouts' on the watch?
3) Is there anything I need to enable on the watch to make sure that the ANT+ works in the future with the woodway?
4) If everything is working, will ANT+ report incline? Does it do any fancy (unwanted) like adjusting 'speed' for incline?

Any help would be much appreciated... really cool feature!
  • If your FR735XT is broadcasting HR data over ANT+, it is not going to know or care which devices in the vicinity are tuned in and listening to it, and so you cannot expect the watch to give you any notifications or show you a list of ?connected? device in that regard.

Some gym equipment does transmit information via ANT+ and incline is part of the Fitness Equipment device profile (https://www.thisisant.com/developer/ant-plus/device-profiles/#525_tab), but as far as I know Woodway only receives via ANT+ (heartrate).
Controlling fitness equipment from a watch (setting resistance levels on an exercise bike for example) is listed as a possibility in this device profile, but I don't know if that is implemented in any equipment.
I'm not sure why an ANT+ capable receiver like the treadmill wouldn't receive your signal anymore. Usually fitness equipment will have "pair here" indication to which you have to hold your watch (if that is transmitting the HR from the optical sensor) or chest belt HRM fairly close (otherwise the machine would pick up anyone's ANT+ HR in the area instead of only yours). Maybe the pairing failed?
