Calendar notifications from Android

Here is my setup:
Android 7.0 on Galaxy S8
735xt with latest 8.2 firmware
Garmin connect latest from playstore

Problem:
I am getting a range of notifications selected on garmin connect app. Everything works ok on phone.
But for some reason on watch I can't see any calendar event notification.
Strangely I do see meetings on watch calendar widget, just the notification is not popping up on watch.

Any ideas why widget works and notifications not triggering?

Have you enabled notifications for calander in the Garmin Connect adroid app?

Have you enabled notifications for calendar in the Garmin Connect android app?

Yes, I enabled "meeting reminders" on "smart notifications" part of Garmin Connect app.
If I try to manually add the application I cant see "Calendar" app under list of possibilities. Is this because "meeting reminders" takes over but not perfectly?
