iOS GarminConnect Health app - Step count completely wrong ??

Howdie,

Can somebody help me with the following.

I just bought my 735XT a week ago and cannot seem to get my steps right.
for example, i got up this morning and instead of my (i guess) 100 steps i already got 1071 steps!!!

The Garmin connect is connected on my IOS with the health app.

Ive been looking for the right settings but don't seem to find a post or site yet which clarifies it.
Can somebody point me here to the right direction please?

Many thanks in advance!

    FYI

1/ I found out that you need to make also changes in IOS (https://support.apple.com/en-gb/HT204351) to manage Health data from multiple sources on your iPhone.
I changed that and put garmin on top.

2/ I've added also that within 10 meters i make 15 steps as for the custom stride length

But i still got way too much counts.
  • This always happens for me with multiple sources reporting steps at overlapping, yet different time intervals. "Multiple Sources" can be as easy as your iPhone's build in M6 chip. Healthkit is not very smart in handling multiple sources so I suggest you disable everything except Garmin. I had to disable the internal tracker via Settings/Privacy/Motion & Fitness and simply unchecking the health toggle. Simply putting Garmin on top didn't help.
