How come suddenly my Forerunner 735XT doesn't track the Floor Climbs ?

Hi all Garmin experts,

My Forerunner 735XT suddenly doesn't track the Floor Climbs ? There figure remains at ZERO all the time despite the many floors that I climbed.

Anyone with any ideas on how to fix this ?

The 735 doesn't have an altimeter built in so it can't track floor climbs, sorry. You need a 920, F3 or F5 for that function.

But why my cheaper Vivoactive has a altimemeter (as it can track floor climbs) while the more expensive Forerunner735 doesn't have one ?

They are aimed at different markets. Vivoactive is a fitness watch and floor climbs is seen as fitness. 735 is a budget tri watch and so loses the altimeter over the FR9xx range and it does multiports really well, but not fitness. You might not agree with it, but that's the way Garmin differentiate.

if it was important to you you should have checked the specs. If you really want it then the Fenix ranges support all 735 functionality and floor climb (but are more expensive)

Is there any sensors or ANT+ attachment that I can add or sync to the Forerunner 735 to record the floor climb ?

I have actually tried the "True Up" on my Vivoactive HR and Forerunner735.

No baro on the 735, so no floors (it needs that so it's got on-going elevation, as a 'floor" is a change it sees in of about 10 ft/3 meters). Like CW said, a bit of a different market (the vivo series is kind of the garmin line to go directly against vendors like Fitbit that have had floors for a while.) They weren't on the original va, but were added in the va-hr.

I've been using TrueUp with the va-hr and fr 230 and it works well!
