Forerunner 735xt inaccurate steps and calories burned during running

Hello,

My Forerunner 735xt is brand new. I went on a run with it today and it recorded the distance right, however, the calories burned and steps counted were way off. It says I burned 470 calories on an 8 mile run...This is not correct. I weight 108 lbs. and am 5'5. What can I do to fix this problem? I have changed the settings for my weight and height, so I am unsure of why this is incorrect. Can anyone help me fix this???

Thanks
  • To "fix" it you just need to run more. The algorithms take a while to learn you and it's common for the first few runs to be off.

That said, another big factor is the max HR you have entered on the watch. Check what it is in My Stats, User Profile, Heart Rate, Max HR and if the value is not close to what you have achieved in a maximal effort recently then change it.

I guess I just have to be patient and go on more runs. Thank you for your advice :) Hopefully, I will see some better accuracy within the next week or two.
