Strength training activity and 735XT

How can I start a "Strength training" activity from my Garmin Forerunner 735XT ?

So far, the only workaround I have found is to start an "Indoor running" activity, then perform the strength activity, save it, and then, once uploaded to Garmin Connect, I modify it manually in the web page into "Strength Training". But it's tedious and I often forgot to modify it.

Thanks.
  • Well you could create a new activity profile - Settings, Activity Profiles, Add New and select the Strength activity type etc etc

This looks like will set GPS off. TBH AFAIK all you can really do is to time your activity and record HR and perhaps give a representative calorie burn but, it should, at least, go up to GC as that and not get mixed up with anything.

BTW some people have found that the OHR works poorly in strength activities so you might want to use a HR strap if it the HR performance is not up to scratch.
