A few questions on 735 usage

Afternoon all,
A few questions I have which I wonder whether others have had or found answers for/solutions to:
i) The Strava Live Suffer score shown on the watch towards the very end of an activity seems not to match the figure recorded in the activity in Strava…usually the watch is 10-20% ahead of the activity recording in Strava. Does the watch/Strave make some adjustments to the final score imply the 'actual' recorded score is usually lower than the final ‘live’ score?
ii) I use metric distances (mainly because of cycling and swimming…I’ve asked Garmin to be able to set imperial for running and metric for everything else, but no response so far) ; as a result, I often find ‘autolap’ when running changes to 1.66km (i.e. 1mile) rather than 1km. Quite annoying! Is there a reason for this/a way of avoiding it?
iii) When running outside (which I’ve only recently returned to after a groinal stress fracture), I find the watch keeps vibrating, for no apparent reason. It is seemingly trying to tell me something, but no notifications of anything pop up, so i can't work out what it is. Intervals are irregular, but typically every 1-2 mins. I’m not crossing any Strava live segments (which I’d expect something to pop up on the screen for?). I don’t experience it indoor on the treadmill, or on any other activities.
iv) Is there a way of switching on/off the Performance Indictor that pops up at 6mins? Currently I get them on the indoor bike, but not outdoor ; and none when running (inside or out)....I'd quite like to receive them for all activities, including swimming, if possible.
Thank you vm for any thoughts on any of these things.
John
  • i. Although am a big Strava fan, haven't use the Suffer Score field much of late as was never persuaded it tells me a great deal actually within a run/bike. I don't recall it doing what you said however. Presume your max HR is to the same on the watch and on Strava?
ii. If you want to mix up units like, check out some of the "opposite" CIQ data fields from hSoftware. Worked well very well when I wanted similar.
What do you want auto lap to be for running to be? 1 mile is 1.61 km (to 2 dp BTW). If you want a mile but have the units set to km then suggest to change the distance unit to miles, setup Auto Lap on the Run profile to be a 1 mile and then switch to back to metric and should do the conversion to 1.61 km which you can't otherwise enter exactly. If you want to be 1 km then set it to that when the units are metres. Other than the initial setup wizard, auto lap distance should not change just because you change units.
iii. Not sure there. Is Auto Pause on perhaps? You would see that on the screen.
Have you got Connection Alert on in the Bluetooth section?
iv If you set performance indicator as a data field then it does not really matter if it pops up or not. I understand it won't always pop up. Kind of depends on your HR. If this is very low initially, for instance, then I don't believe it can work out your condition.
For swimming are you using an HRM-Swim? Even so as that HR data is stored for later download to the watch, I suspect "real time" metrics like performance condition which need HR can't be shown in a swim. Then again that's a bit of a guess as don't recall ever looking at this myself.
