FR735XT Rev.4.4 / 5.8 beta not finding Bike Cadence Sensor

Hi Endurance training fellows,

Cadence bike sensor fails to be recognized by FR735 with 4.4. & 5.08beta. Speed bike sensor found however. Oh yes no low batt on both, sensor & watch. Former versions worked.

Best,

- Road
  • Did you search for all sensors or only one type?

even if you didn't have a low battery alert, try a different battery.

My GSX10 is working fine on both firmwares.

  • FR735XT Rev. 4.4. / 5.08 beta not finding Magnetless Cadence Bike Sensor.

    Hi CW, thanks for caring.

I am speaking here of the magnetless version, the combined speed / cadence sensor GSC-10 works well and is recognized. Yes, tried additionally what shoud be a brand-new Energizer 2032 cell (says storage good up to 2021).

I suspect a SW bound FR735XT trouble as I have two magnetless cadence sensors available. Both fail, which points to the watch.

Searching done by "search all", that's right.

    Thanks & Best, Road.
  • Did you bring the 735 right up to the sensor when trying to pair and were you also turning the pedals to ensure the sensor was awake?

Any thought is that if you have already paired the GSC10 then you can't actively pair another device also giving cadence.

Do you have any other Garmin devices to verify you can pair to it.

Another "trick" when having pairing problems is to power cycle the device. I just did that to get smart notifications to come back.
  • Thanks Tim for kindly commenting on this.

I have tried what I can do and I failed with all attempts to make the sensor known to my FR735XT. All changed, GARMIN watches, sensors and batteries. Frustrating results only.

I will be sending the sensor to GARMIN's service. Still a warranty case.

    Thanks again, and Best,

    - Road.
