735XT sync complete but no new activity on Garmin Connect

I have three new activities saved on my watch that show up when scrolling through history. However, when I try to sync my 735XT and Garmin Connect app via bluetooth, the two devices go through the motion of syncing. Yet when the green "sync complete" bar pops up, the Garmin Connect app does not display any new activities.

I tried restarting 735XT, I tried starting my phone, I tried deleting Garmin Connect app and reinstalling, I tried syncing via USB cable through Garmin Express on my computer, I tried creating a new dummy activity and then syncing again (only the new activity showed up, but not the other three). Nothing works! This is starting to get really frustrating.

How do I get these activities to sync so they show up on my Garmin Connect, and not just my watch history??

Any help would be much appreciated!
  • Try the manual import (top right) on https://connect.garmin.com/modern/activities

    It is possible one of the activity files is corrupt and so preventing the automatic upload to work properly.

    A manual upload should hopefully allow that activity to appear in your account, as TIMGROSE suggested.

    The Import option that was suggested by TIMGROSE is currently showing errors for users, and the Garmin Connect team is looking in to that further.

    The issue with getting an error when trying to manually upload a FIT file using the Import button has been resolved.

    I had the same problem and done also quite everything to get the workouts in garmin connect. The curious thing was that the forwarding to trainingpeaks works without problem, but the workout doesn`t appear in GC. Also curious was that very short workouts of a few minutes occured in GC. I also noticed that this problem is known by other devices of garmin.

    The solution was to uninstall GC (android) and install an old version of GC, in my case it was 3.4.1.2. and it works like before without any problems. After a time of struggling I began again to update to the latest version of GC since mid of august. Till now it continues to work.

    lately, activities have been uploaded double and today an activity wont upload on Connect. the 735xt is apparently syncing to Connect (latest version 4.1.5.1 on an iphone SE), heart rate details of the day are displayed but the activity is not shown.

    Is there any solution?
  • Same Problem here... 735xt is syncing with GC (latest build) but does not show anything at all.. under device settings the Auto Upload is grey and cant be switched on... restarting the watch uninstall and reinstall GC didn't work... either... anyone of Garmin here monitoring or have a idea what it could be?
  • I have the same issue today. Ive tried plugging and syncing via my macbook, not luck it syncs but no data is transfered, it syncs via mobile but not run data transfered, though IQ apps have been downloaded this morning.

  • I've had a similar issue. I finished an activity, stopped the watch but then my watch battery died when I pressed the save button. After charging the watch, I restarted it, press the save button again. Then, I could see the activity in the history on the watch but it would not sync. I connected the watch to my computer, browsed and downloaded the FIT file and tried importing it in Garming Connect but it produced an error. However, I could successfully import the same FIT file in Strava, so even if the file is somehow corrupted, other platforms do not have issues with the file...
