I just placed an order with REI. Any ideas when they would release it?

    Thanks.

May i also ask how many CIQ spots you can use (2 on the 235, not sure what the 6xx series offers)?

When i go to add a Connect IQ field to the display it suggests i have loaded 1/3 - this one is the Strava Suffer Score, so leaving 2 available. I assume if you remove the Strava one you can have 3 of your choosing.

I ordered from REI the moment it showed up on their website.....gave me a 5/25 eta. I cancelled my order once I found the watch elsewhere.
  • You'll see :) let me know. Dimensions are quoted by largest values, which is maybe only 0.5 mm in diameter, but overall edge is small.

I sold my 235 yesterday and received my 735 today, so I have not been able to compare them side by side. They seem virtually identical, but there are some subtle differences (at least with regard to the two I've had).

The face of the 735 seems very slightly smaller. I don't know if the plastic sides are tapered differently, or it's an optical illusion due to the slightly different circular graphic bordering the face, but it looks slightly smaller. The screen looks (and is) the same. The backlight is the same.

The buttons on my 735 have a better feel. They're still plastic like the 235's, but they have a more solid feel to them. It could be due to age of the watch – I had the 235 since last November – or just manufacturing variations, but the 735 buttons feel slightly better to me.

I prefer the 735 band. I recall the 235 band being someone more flexible, but the 735 band looks nicer to me. Will be able to see how the band affects using the OHRM tomorrow.

Otherwise, you'd be hard pressed to tell the watches apart from a casual glance. I would have bought the 735 initially had it been available at the time, so I'm more than happy with the upgrade.

FWIW i just replaced my December-purchased 235 with a new one this month and i noticed a distinct difference in the buttons. A little more solid with a distinct click when pressing them. So this might be a manufacturing refinement in the general construction process of the new FR watches.
  • It seems to be a very nice watch.

For me, advantages comparing with 920xt and 630 :
    - possibility to get HR from wrist, but very important also possibility for using a chest heart rate monitor; perfect
    - no touch screen; perfect (630 awful)
    - new data fields : last interval ..., ....

And always, Virtual Partner, Virtual Racer, Navigation , ...

Hopeful, workouts with managing "Autolap" parameter. Not sure.

But no "Early / Late time " data field of Virtual Partner.

Thanks for the feedback. Good to know it's not my imagination!
