Importing Runkeeper training plan

I have a training plan from Runkeeper that I want to sync to Garmin Connect. But it doesn't work. Runkeeper and Garmin Connect is linked. I can sync the activity(running) from Garmin Connect to Runkeeper.

I have tried disconnecting everything and reconnect again. But the training plan still doesn't show up in Garmin Connect. Has anyone done this successfully? I'm running the latest apps on my iPhone iOS 14.4.2.

I have contacted the Runkeeper support but no reply...

Any tip would be appreciated. Thank you.

  • I have this issue too and I spoke to Runkeeper support too. They've been useless and told me that the feature didn't exist (facepalm), so they clearly have no idea about their product's feature's. Every time I disconnect, the Garmin Training toggle remains enabled and I cannot seem to get it to disable to restart it, is it the same for you?

  • Yes, I have the same problem not being able to disconnect completely. ( Garmin Training toggle is always on no matter what I do ) Runkeeper support replied but like you said, they don't seem to understand. I read from somewhere else that people have synced the training plan and it appear in Garmin connect calendar but that post was about a year or so ago. I'm wondering if it doesn't work anymore. So I was interested to know if anyone has succeeded this recently.

Thanks for the reply. I'm about to give up on this idea and find some other way..

  • mine also isnt showing up on the garmin watch but both accounts are linked and synced. whats the fix for this?

  • I used RK Marathon Training Plan with my FR645 in late 2021, early 2022. You needed to allow RK to share date from RK app to Garmin Connect in addition to Data Shared from Garmin Connect to RK.

You can do this by going to RK app => Settings => Apps and Devices => Garmin Connect. Once you enter your GC username/password you will see the two settings there.

RK pushes the workouts for the 7-10 days at a time a few days before the first workout. I think I used to get an update every Sunday. So, it is possible that your training will not appear immediately after you setup bilateral data sharing.

However. there are issues with using RK training plans with Garmin devices (at least FR645). When there are iterations in the workout, those iterations are transmitted to watch one iteration less. For example, if you had 8 iterations of say 1-mile reps followed by some recovery, the watch ends up with 7 iterations. I opened a defect with RK but they are not interested in fixing this simple bug.

Find a training plan in TrainingPeaks or FinalSurge instead. There are many quality plans to choose with similar cost to RK Go subscription. Also Garmin has free Garmin Coach training as well as non-virtual plans (only available via GC website).
