No vibration for notifications

Brand new 645M, the alerts / notifications from my phone show on the watch face but the watch doesn’t vibrate.

I’ve tried turning on the sound alert and it will beep when a notification is received but still doesn’t vibrate.

Have tried the following:

turned off setting, power cycled, turned back on
turned off setting, synced, turned back on
made sure that DND is off

Any ideas on how to fix this?

I'm curious if vibration works for non phone related things - like hitting 10,000 steps or completing a lap, etc. If not, maybe it's a hardware problem. If they work, then there's some hope.

Yes, vibration works for other things.

Yes, the watch does It if you configure It correctly.
