Garmin 645 Music - Can't Sync Spotify Playlist

On syncing to playlist, it just stays at zero and does no more. cannot get music on to device. Can see it is successfully connecting to my spotify and showing playlists, but syncing is either failing or staying at 0.

  • Have restarted it multiple times.
  • Have tried syncing it while directly beside router and plugged in.
  • Have removed spotify, removed wifi connection and restarted both my devices and re initiated setup process.
  • Have been doing all of this with a playlist containing two songs.
  • have restarted the setup up on a newer iphone(initially on iphone 5, then on iphone 6)

Any ideas on how to resolve this. Have been at it for 3 hours now and tried many combinations to resolve the issue.

  • in Android there is an "apps" section in setting. I can go in an delete both 'cache' and 'data' in an app. I did that with my Garmin Connect app.

Also for me, usually there is a 'sync fail' and it nearly always works on the fourth straight 'sync fail' message.  So down load, sync fail, try again, sync fail, try again, sync fail, try again..at some point (usually on the fourth try) it starts to download.

Same for me since the updating watch firmware.

  • This is an old thread, but I've just had a similar problem and thought my solution might help others. I had a 10 song playlist that dropped to 3 synced items on the last sync (even though the list of the FR645 said 10). I eventually looked on Spotify and I realised that the fourth track was rated E (Explicit lyrics). What had happened was I'd turned on 'skip explicit tracks' (on Spotify) because my young daughter uses it on Google Home. I turned it back on and synced again and all my tracks are back. So, there's a glitch that FR645 skips tracks marked 'don't play' and doesn't then pick up the rest. Check if you have a track that's missing, removed or barred in Spotify. Just might be it.
