Forerunner 645 music 0% sync / sync failed - spotify

I’ve bought the forerunner 645 music a couple of days ago and I’m having trouble loading songs from Spotify. The watch connects to my Spotify but when I’m trying to download my playlists the watch just stays on 0% sync and either stays there or just states ‘sync failed’.

I’ve seen a few other people on the forum have had this issue but any suggested fixes hasn’t worked for me. Any ideas before I return it for a refund.

My 645/M consistently does the exact same thing, and like clockwork after three 'sync fails' the fourth time it loads. Frustrating as h*ll, but I've become immune to it. I kind of love my 645/M and I am also kind of ready to get one that works better.

I could handle that if it syncs after the fourth attempt but I’ve been trying for two days and managed to get 2 songs
