6.70 - now my altimeter works!

I received a replacement 645 as a warranty exchange about 2 months ago, only to find that the altimeter was non functional. Restarts, etc. were no help. After the 6.70 update today, I had the pleasant surprise of having back elevation data, which I stumbled onto aft my Strava download.

  • Wrist altimeters will never work, they are too subject to sudden changes in body temperature and humidity, especially during a sports activity in which you sweat. During the lockdown I ran along the stairs, at the first ascents he counted the floors well enough then warming up he lost accuracy.

you're right, I'm going to do tests with the watch fixed on the bike

  • After a swim in the pool the altimeter and temperature sensor broke, update 6.70 did not fix the problem. Really BAD MATERIALS on the latest garmins. The watch is out of warranty, I have already replaced one under warranty, they don't repair it, they offer you a discounted one, so in the end it would cost me like a fenix, absurd.

  • Well I don't know how but incredibly after a month and a half everything started working again, yesterday morning I checked the temperature sensor for the umpteenth time and it appeared that it had started working again during the night, then I checked the altimeter and it too it was fine and the calibration worked, I had upgraded to 6.70 days ago but it didn't work, now suddenly everything works. Better so, however, I remain of the idea that they are too sophisticated watches and of not excellent quality of materials
