Is there a way to know whether a watch was used?

Hi,

I just bought a Forerunner 645M on ebay. It's supposed to be new, but while unboxing it I saw suspicious signs (i.e fingerprints on the screen and on the bezel). Is there a way to know whether the watch was already used? Something like a counter of how much time it was turned on?

Ask Garmin if the serial number has been registered to an account?

Also they should come with a plastic protector on the screen face, if that was missing it was most likely in possession of another person, but does not mean used.
