Anyone have experience getting an out of warranty replacement? Seems crazy this part could wear out after just 1.5 years. Thanks for any helpful info!

Mine did this too. Contacted them and they replaced the watch.

I just had this happen to my vivoactive 3 music. I'm 6 months out of warranty. I'm deveststed. I hope they can offer something.
Garmin 's design is flawed in all these watch models as the pin posts fail on all of them consistently. They rep!ace them with the same models with the same design flaw flaws until you're out of warranty .Thin plastic posts holding steel spring pins is destined to fail and we are SOL once the warranty period has expired .I want my money back. What good is a watch that falls off your wrist? Useless! Do right by your customers Garmin and fix the flaw or refund the cost for these watches.
I had bought a black 645m soon after its launch ,March 2018, about 4 months ago noticed hairline cracks on plastic lungs near the pin steel holder- based in APAC- no replacement/out warranty. Searched and found TPU protector ( much like phone case), online shops for 5$,very tight and sung fit ( a little push/shove/stretch to get the watch in), but holds very well. Though watch slightly bulky, not any heavier, doesn’t spoil the looks much, button are now nearly flush with case , however it took few days to get used to and best part the shop has different colours to.match ! AND most importantly, the hairline crack hasn’t expanded any further and holding the lug and pin securely.-extended life !.
I have repaired all 4 arms with epoxy resin. I have been wearing mine daily and running weekly without any issues. I think my repair is probably stronger than the original resin
Hello I have the same issue, but Garmin in Czech republic don´t want to replace my watch. I tried to claim the watch where I bought them, but I was twice rejected. Official reply from employee in Garmin Czech republic was that they only can give me sale on buying new watch.
But I want my 645m repaired and don´t know what else should I do. Can you please help me?
Martin-
Could you send a photo of how you fixed your watch with epoxy resin? I've had a similar problem and would like to try and fix my watch.
-Thanks,
Christian
