Cracked screen replacement

Unfortunately I cracked the screen on my 645 M. It is just the outer glass that is cracked, the screen underneath works fine.
I asked Garmin how much it would cost to fix it and they answered that they will not repair it, but I could get a replacement for approximately $142.

In my opinion this is extremely expensive for just a cracked glass and this watch only cost about $380 brand new.

I have tried finding a replacement glass online to replace it myself, but I can't find it. Anyone know where this is possible to buy?

Any other idea where/how to fix this?

Same happened to me with my 235. I'll leave it as is, and then buy a new one when it stops working. Though probably not a Garmin!

I've had issues with elevation, temperature, and that the watch freezes before this happened, but now I got an issue with the GPS to. Offcourse it was no warranty because of the cracked glass, so had to buy a replacement.

Hi Thore - This seems to be a common problem - I have talked with a few on this forum about forcing Garmins hand with a class action lawsuit - no cost to the plaintiffs. I'm not a lawyer but, I 've talked with one in Utah who previously one a similar class action again Garmin for faulty watch straps. If interested you can contact me at michaeldobres at gmail

Same happened to my with a 6 month old 945 and Garmin charge over 160 Euro around 180 dollars to replace it with an older 945 than mine, thought it was really poor for a 600 Euro watch

You cracked your screen and you think it was poor of Garmin to replace it for 160 Euro instead of buying another one for 600 Euro? I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around that mentality.

They change it with a reconditioned one at their disposal, someones sent in for repair.
