645M Froze up during a run.

It's running software version 5.70 (1517997). I've been wearing the 245 (non-music), but it is constantly rebooting, so I went to my trusty 645 for a long run. No reboots, but it simply froze up and nothing worked to get it going again. I ended up holding the power button until it reset, but ALL data from the run was lost--even the step count.

I'm livid about this and strongly considering switching to the Apple Watch.

Garmin, is anything being done about the issues with your software? The 245 is virtually unusable as a running device, since one never knows when it may reboot.

  • Same for me.  I had huge problems 12 months ago with it constantly rebooting which all resolved but just lately it's happening again.  I notice the music goes first then when I look down at the watch it's the triangle on the watch face.  Takes about 90 seconds and then it comes alive again and I can resume the current activity.  It doesn't affect the overall pace or distance but in Strava that km always has an extra couple of minutes added to it.  It happens randomly in the first km or 2 or when I fast forward or rewind a track via my headphones.
