Garmin Forerunner 630 -- Is there a way to upload a GPX file to a FR 630 using ViewRanger?

Part of a 5 day race this week where the maps have been provided and I would like to use my Forerunner630 to help navigate. Is there anyway to get a map provided on ViewRanger to a FR630? I tried using BaseCamp but it does not offer a way to export to the device.

As a former 630 owner, I’m pretty sure 630 does not support navigating a course.

I think your only option is to use an app like dwMap…

I think your only option is to use an app like dwMap (I used to use it all the time.) It replaces your run activity and adds navigation, but the downside is you don’t get the full capabilities of the built in Run activity (like the metronome), although all the essentials are there. Also, if you want turn-by-turn alerts you need to pay for the premium version, which I gladly did.

Still a pretty great app that adds some much needed functionality to the 630 tho.

Where has the FR630 forum gone? My back button died yesterday. I’m getting a refurbished FR630 from Garmin. The back button has been getting less and less responsive. It was a few years old. I liked it and didn’t want to spend any more for the 645.
