Garmin 645 with Polar H10 HR belt -> Now Ant+ connection available

Tchô bonne,

Just a note for those who have a Polar H10 HR belt. From today the firmware is updated and we can connect the belt via ANT +.
https://support.polar.com/en/updates/polar-oh1-and-h10-firmware-updates

I did that right now.
Last months, I had problems with the HR belt and my Bluetooth headphones keeping disconnecting every ~15 minutes during a run.
I hope that having 2 separate communication protocol, a belt connected via ANT+ and headphones via bluetooth, will reduce potential connection problems.

Plus with the new Firmware 5.20, I can hope that this is more stable

  • I'm actually thinking to get the H10 now that it has the Ant+ capability unlocked. I own a OH1 for strenght workouts and am using Ant+ since the update (I don't like chest straps for HIIT strenght training and I bought the OH1 on a very good sale. Almost went bonkers when I heard about the Ant+ update).

The reason why I want the H10 is for the very accurate HR data and for the removable sensor. I'm still holding on dearly to my old HRM-Run with the detachable sensor pod and my old HRM Premium strap from my FR620 (yeah, it's still ticking). I do not want the new one, since I've hard bad things about the strap (no wonder, you cannot machine wash it anymore…). But I'll have to plan for the day, when my HRM-Run sensor pod will stop working.

So I'm reasoning if it's better to get a H10 and a Running Dynamics Pod. This way I'll still be able to machine wash my strap, get good HR data and won't have to miss out on my RD data.
  • Hi! As far as I can see you can use H10 sensor with your Garmin 645 and also with 935.
Does it also provide the HRV (R-R) data to them? Or you can use it only for heart rate.

I will be moving from Polar to Garmin and I have both the strap and the stride sensor.

    Thanks
