645 Defective Device Refund Policy

Hello, I was wondering if I could get some advice. In December 2018, my 645 stopped working. It was purchased in April of that year, so still under warranty. I received a brand new device from Garmin. Well, after about 3 months, this new device is doing the exact same thing. Basically, the battery is awesome, no issues, then 1 day the battery goes from 90% to 0% in like an hour. Battery drains so quickly it won't even turn on. Same as my first watch. I have a whole other write up about exact experience, but won't be adding it here.

Anyway, what are my options going forward? This will be my 3rd watch in less than a year. I'm worried about what will happen when warranty expires in April. I'll be stuck with a $400 brick. Anybody experience anything similar in regards to multiple returns on same device type in a short period of time. I just have sick feeling that I'm going be very disappointing once this warranty expires. Can I ask for a refund?

Just a FYI, I don't even run anymore, just really like the watch. Point being, battery drain is without GPS, WI-FI or heavy use. Only Bluetooth. It seems like the same symptoms of software update getting stuck in loop, but even a reset of the device doesn't fix. I can literally sit and watch my battery % drain in a matter of minutes.
  • Mine does this also occasionally. A complete shutdown and restart usually prevents it happening again for a period of time.
  • Don't know legal regulations in you state/country, but if Garmin won't help amymore after a year you may try to speak to your dealer you purchased the watch from. In some countries for example you can ask for refund if 2 attempts to repair or exchange failed.
  • tmorris15 the retailer should be a first stop - you can argue that the device is clearly not fit for purpose at this price point and argue for a refund. What country are you in as local trading laws vary widely.
