645 and USB-C ports

I have just bought a mac which only has USB-C ports. Any ideas how I can get around charging it and transferring data. Luckily I have my old mac which has USB-3 ports for another week then.....
Garmin support said the watch must be directly attached to computer so cannot use a hub adapter. Anyone tried this out. I need a charging cable with a USB-C link

If a hub doesn't work, then you will need a USB-C to USB-A adapter like this:

USB-C is basically a different connector, but it works with all the older USB standards, so all you need is an adapter to connect your cable to your laptop.

I would try the hub first before you buy an adapter, tho.

I have a Fenix 5+, FR 935 and another device that I connect to a MacBook Pro. I use something similar to these that work just fine - https://www.amazon.com/Syntech-Adapt...+to+usb-3 These are much cheaper than a hub or adapter from Apple obviously.

I also have a Satechi hub which has a number of other ports as well as USB-3 ports and that works just as well too.

Or you can use standard USB mobile phone charger (what solves charging only).

I connect my device via a hub. It usually works.

Garmin don't recommend doing this because you're putting something else in the way to go wrong but frankly that's true of usb-c adapters also. Hopefully Garmin will release a usb-c charging clamp before too long!
