No longer connecting to headphones

All of a sudden, I can't connect to either one of the two different sets of headphones I've been using for months now. The headphones are fine, I can connect to other devices with them.

First time this happened, I rebooted the watch and up restarting it connected fine. Since then, no dice.

I've tried to set them up as a new headphone, but it doesn't find them

Anyone had this problem and solved it? Software version 4.20.

Thank you.

I have a similar issue. In my case, it is not a connection issue, I cannot hear my earbuds. First time, I reset my watch to fix the issue but yesterday it happened again. Unpairing ("remove") the earbuds did not help, so I unpaired them, stop/start the watch and repairing which fixed the sound issue I had. Only happened since I am on 4.20.
  • An update.

In my first post, when I referred to connecting the headphone, I was talking about the automatic connection that starts when you've selected a track to play.

Whilst experimenting yesterday, I found that if I went via Settings-->Sensors and Accessories-->and then selected the headphones from there, it connected straight away.
Then, when I went back to try and connect in the usual way (via playing a track) it worked fine again.

I don't know if this is a permanent resolution or a workaround, but hope its helpful to anyone else who has this issue in the future.

Thanks for posting this. Just bought 645 music and constant dropouts when running. Very frustrating. Will try this for next run. I'll update with results. Thanks.

  • This issue is a little old, but can you tell me if you have any solution? At home, the earbuds work fine. As soon I leave my house the connection is interrupting, even when I'm walking. When I'm running, the connection is even worse. It's frustrating like you said.

  • I am having a similar issue, as soon as I turn on my gps tracking my headphones go into a cycle of connecting/disconnecting repeatedly and I cannot use them.

  • I don't know if this is a solution for you, but in my situation it was the way my Samsung earbuds connect to my Garmin watch. If I wear my watch on my right wrist, I don't have interruption. The reason is the distance between the 'upper' bud (the right one in my case) and my Garmin. There is a site where you can find this info per headphone, by I lost the URL. If I find it, I will post it here.

  • I've just had this issue with my forerunner 645 music and managed to fix it on my watch by going on headphones > selecting the ones I usually connect to > removing them > add new to re-add them. Now they re-connect automatically Slight smile
